Penny Vincent Peterborough, Ontario Obituary

Penny Vincent

Obituary of Penny Vincent VINCENT: Penny Lou Peacefully, at her home on Monday, November 3rd, 2014, after a lengthy illness in her 66th year. Born and raised in Orillia, taking care of her cherished siblings, Pam (Robbins), Pat (Pringle) and Paula (Pringle) she was always the peace keeper and caregiver. A Storybook high school love was sacrificed for a life dedicated to caring for others. Before she was finished school, she found the next love of her life, (Paul Kneller), to whom she would later marry and have two children. She graduated from St. Michael's School of Nursing in 1971, building many life-long friendships, and began a beautiful career as nurse. Years in the trenches of ER's and ICU's, she found the perfect vocation in the Peterborough area. As a PCCAC case manager she would ensure the best and most dignified health care to citizens in the comfort of their home for 25 years. She reveled in the beauty of the Kawartha's. She raised two beloved girls, Casey Porter (nee Kneller) and Carey Cavanagh (nee Kneller). As her children grew and her family flourished she continued to be the matriarch to an extended family and many wonderful friends. Leading through example, she taught kindness, compassion, generosity and strength to everyone who crossed her path. When love came her way again she found devotion in her Husband Bobby Vincent, married on Valentine's Day of 2008 and she became step-Mom to Meredith and Rory and loving grandma to Ava, Quinn and Harper. After giving away both of her daughters in marriage and witnessing the birth of her first grandchild, Margaret, she found the courage to let go of a 7 year battle with cancer, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by love. Family and friends will be received at ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME, 840 Armour Road (north of Parkhill) on Friday, November 7th from 5 - 8 pm, and Saturday, November 8th, from 1 - 2 pm. Service in the chapel on Saturday at 2 pm. If desired, condolences to the family, directions to the service, and donations to Hospice Peterborough or the Canadian Cancer Society, may be made at www.AshburnhamFuneral.ca or by calling at 705-740-0444.
