Obituary of Rene Stewart Stewart, Rene Mary (nee Watson) - The Stewart family announces with great sadness the death of Rene Stewart in Peterborough, Ontario on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Pete (R.C.A.) Stewart in 2006. She is survived by her daughters, Christie (Pully, Switzerland), Susan (William) Gastle (Mississauga) and Jane (Peterborough) and her grandson, Angus (Maria) Gastle (Edmonton). Daughter of the late Alexander James Watson, OBE and Maude (Holgreaves) Watson, Rene was born on February 26, 1919 in Vancouver, grew up in Victoria (Oak Bay) and lived for many years in Vancouver (Kerrisdale), before moving to Peterborough in 1963. She was a devoted member of St. John's Anglican Church and the Welfare League of Peterborough. She was an elegant and gentle mother and friend and we shall miss her.
