Obituary of Richard Lewelyn Stephens Stephens, Richard (Dick) Lewellyn Edward: Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in his 81st year. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Arlene. Survived and dearly missed by his loving children, Dave (Loree) and Maggie (Jan), grandchildren Diana (Justina), William, Leah, and Edward, brothers-in-law Bob (Kathy) and Max (Erma), niece Rosemary, (Glenn), and nephews Mike (Lisa), Rod (Ellen), Al, (Michelle), and Jamie, (Karen), and great nieces and great-nephews Bridget, Marilyn, Christopher, Hazel, Eve, Katie, Tom, Miriam, and Lorna. Predeceased by his dear sister Marilyn and great-niece Abigail. Dick Stephens taught English in high school for many years in Peterborough and influenced many lives. He was an avid historian and spoke several languages. He was also a passionate hunter and target shooter. Fall was his favourite time of year when he could be hunting, or just sharing the outdoors with Dave, Bob, Max, his nephews and various doggy friends. A memorial reception celebrating Dick's life will be held Monday, October 30, 2017 at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, receiving friends from 11:00 am–1:00 pm.
