Obituary of Roy Hancock HANCOCK, Roy William: Veteran and lifelong resident of the Peterborough area, Roy died on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the age of 91. Husband of the late Evelyn Florence Hancock (Bigelow), Roy will be remembered by family and friends for his kindness, friendship and overall joy of life. Saddened by their loss but rejoicing in the many good times they shared with Roy are: Son's and Daughter and their partners Bob and Lyndia (Welch), Ron & Elaine (Hill), Bruce & Peggy (Cliffe) and Pat & Henk van der Veen; Grandchildren and their partners Stephen & Sandi, Sally & Todd, Cory, Christie & Scott, Denis & Sophie, Katherine & Ryan, Lisa & Andrew, Julie & Iain and Emilee & David; Great Grand Children Sophie, Jaime, Teagan, Bridget, Raylea, Desa and Dylan. Survived by loving sisters Jean Dunford (& Mic) and Enid McConkey and sisters-in-law Dorothy Hancock (Cecil), Phyllis Grass (& Ed) and Hilda Bigelow (Morgan). Predeceased by brothers Gordon (Ethyl), Arthur (Margaret), Clarence (Mildred) and Cecil (Dorothy) and sisters Eulah Bristow (Nyle), Marian and Olive. Immediate family will attend a private interment at Rosemount Memorial Gardens at 10:00 am Sat. March 14, 2009. Although saddened at his passing, his family believes that this is a time to honour him, share our memories and recall the joy, happiness, and comfort he brought to our lives. Relatives, friends and acquaintances are invited to meet Roy's family and share their memories and stories at a Celebration of the Life of Roy Hancock to be held at GEORGE STREET UNITED CHURCH AUDITORIUM, 534 George Street North (at McDonnel), Sat. March 14, 2009 from 11:00 to 1:00 pm.
