Peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, May 2, 2021 in her 80th year. Dear daughter of the late Harry O’Neill and Lillian Rife. Loving and devoted wife of Rev. H. Bain Milroy (58 years). Loving mother of Will (Sherri), Patrick (Marcy) and Beth (Donnie). Much loved Nana of Courtney (Neill), Matthew (Jenn), Kelsey, Caleb, Connor, Tyler, Kyleigh, Curtis, Meghan, Thomas and Great Nana to Aidan, Kai, Mark and Alex. Survived by brother Bill (Brenda) and Jim and sister-in-law Helen (Gordon). Sharon was born in Galt (Cambridge), ON. She met the love of her life in high school at age 14. They were married in 1963 and began a beautiful partnership raising and supporting each other through all of life’s triumphs and challenges. Sharon was a wonderful farm wife, Cub Scout leader and minister’s wife. After equipping her children with all the skills necessary to survive and thrive, she returned to school to earn a university degree and embark on a career of helping others through counselling and hospice care. Sharon and Bain enjoyed spending time outdoors with canoe and camping trips. Sharon had a love of history which she turned into a career and spent most of her adult life tracing and documenting the O’Neill family tree. Family was her first love, and she was pleased to share and pass on her sewing skills to her children and grandchildren. Sauble Beach held a special place in her heart and was an annual gathering place for 4 generations of family. Sharon will be missed, but her life will continue to be celebrated. Cremation entrusted to Ashburnham Funeral Home. A family gathering will be held at a later date. The family wishes to give a heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and PSW’s for the wonderful palliative care which she received. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made in Sharon's memory to Keene United Church, The Peterborough Regional Health Centre Cancer Clinic, or St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
