Obituary of Susan Joann Marie Ernst ERNST, Susan Joann Marie “Susie” (Proulx) – Passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough, with her husband at her side, on Thursday, May 14, 2020. Susie of Peterborough, formerly of Chelsea Quebec, was 60 years of age. Beloved wife of Jorg Ernst for 43 years. Loving mother of Karsten (Shevaun), Martin (Jolene) and Alexander. Dear grandmother of Makayla, Nevaeh, Hunter, Ethan, Gracie, Olivia, Liam and Emmett. Daughter of Shirley Proulx (Campbell) and the late Bernard Proulx. Sister of Gordon Campbell and the late Carmen Ernst and Leo Proulx. Susie will be remembered by many other relatives and friends, including her four-legged children, “Teddy” and her baby “Daisy”. Retired Executive Housekeeper from various hotels, Susie enjoyed her job and was dedicated and passionate about her work and her staff. “Tough but Fair” was her motto. Susie was known for her fantastic smile & infectious laugh. She loved to shop for clothes, and always looking forward to Sunday, to attend church and then for a Sunday dinner or Bar B Que at home. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, gardening and baking. Her three boys and her grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She loved spending time with any of them. She also loved spending time with Jorg, even if it was just going for a coffee. They went everywhere together, as he was her private chauffer. A family Celebration of Life will be held when it is appropriate to do so. Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Alternative Funeral Home.
