Obituary of Thomas John Newlands Newlands, Thomas John – Passed away peacefully, at St. Joseph’s at Fleming, on Thursday, August 15, 2019. Tom of Peterborough, formerly of Beijing and Toronto, at 83 years of age. Beloved husband of Fei Newlands (Gao) for 20 years. Tom will be remembered by many friends. Tom worked in sales for most of his life, and was quite successful at it. A past sales manager for a car dealership, he moved on to broadcasting where he was involved with various radio stations in Lindsay, Niagara Falls and other cities. That work led him to Beijing, China where he worked, met, and married, Fei, before moving on to teaching English, which he did until he retired. Cremation has taken place.
