Obituary of William BAKER BAKER: William Smith (Bill) Retired firefighter, Peterborough Fire Department. Royal Canadian Navy VR, WWII Veteran, V-86755. Life member of the Peterborough Naval Association. Peacefully at home on Sunday, April 20, 2008, in his 83rd year. Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Betty, and by his sons, Gordon (Wendy), Steven (Deana), and John. He will be missed by his grandchildren. Cremation followed by a private family inurnment at Rosemount Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at 1902 Sherbrooke Street, Peterborough, on Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 1-4 p.m. If desired, condolences to the family and donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Charity of Your Choice may be made at www.CommunityAlternative.ca or by calling COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL HOME at 705-742-1875. The family would like to thank everyone who made it possible for Bill to be at home, where he wanted to be, during his long illness: the Access Centre, P.S.W.'s from the Red Cross, the nurses from Pro Home Health Services, Dr. Vanderkamp, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
