Obituary of William Plager PLAGER, William Ronald "Bill" - Peacefully, with his family at his side on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Bill of Peterborough in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Donna (nee Hickey) for 50 years. Dear father of William "Billy" of Peterborough, Brett (Luc Olscamp and Francis Fortier) of Montreal and Dara Gosselin (Steven) of Peterborough. Cherished Poppa of Zach, Liam, Olivia, Isabelle and Taylor. Loving brother of Bob Plager of St. Louis, MO and the late Barc Plager (surviving wife Helen). Bill will be remembered by many other relatives and friends. Bill grew up playing for the Petes. He was drafted into the NHL by the Minnesota North Stars. He played for the Atlanta Flames and then the St. Louis Blues, where he had the most success. Once he retired from hockey, Bill came back to Peterborough where he worked for Quaker Oats and coached. He was proud to have coached with the Girls Ice Kats the Minor Petes and the Lakefield Chiefs. A private family service was held at the ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME 840 Armour Rd. A public Celebration of Life Service will be held at the EVINRUDE CENTRE, 911 Monaghan Road, on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 1-4 pm.
