Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Center, with his family by his side on Sunday, October 2, 2011, in his 86th year. Don, a lifelong Mathers Corners (Otonabee Township) farmer, member of the Keene Masonic Lodge since 1979 and a Keene United Church Steward. Beloved husband of Lois (Madge), and loving father of Kenneth and his wife Mary (O’Grady), and Ruth and her husband Pierre Doig. Loving grandfather of Colin, Christopher, and Justin, who he loved farming with. Dear brother of Neil and his wife Eileen, Mary and her husband Alex Jackson, and the late Ruth and her husband Bill Jackman. Son of the late John and Lilah Macfarlane. Friends may call at KEENE UNITED CHURCH, from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday October 4, 2011. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:30p.m. on Tuesday evening. Funeral Service at Keene United Church (Corner of Second and North Streets), Keene, on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 1 p.m. Interment Upper Keene Cemetery.
