<p>BYWATER-SCHUST: Dorothy Violet</p><p>It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Violet Bywater-Schust at the age 92 on January 6, 2010.</p><p>Dorothy leaves behind her daughter Diane (Bob), three grandchildren and her much loved great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Frank and Harold Bywater and sister Elizabeth (Betty) Ruttan, whom she adored. She is survived by her loving sisters Lillian Brookes, Daisy Bond and Olive Patricia Bush (Cliff) and many nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by her nephew Wayne Bond (Vera) and niece Lynn Stephen. Dorothy was also the treasured friend of Joyce and Stan Maclean. Dorothy was originally from Toronto where she became the president of Don Valley Art Club. She excelled in painting, sculpture, stained glass and woodcarving. She was also an accomplished seamstress and dress designer and avid gardener. She loved to paint outdoors and was a life member of the Kawartha </p><p>Artists Gallery and Studio. Her paintings hang in collections in England, San Francisco, Detroit, Vancouver and Toronto to name a few. Dorothy was a vibrant, Humorous, witty unique person whose motto was “YOU HAVE TO BE CREATIVE ALL YOUR LIFE” and she was to the very end, painting and creating humorous occasion cards to send to family and her many friends. We would like to acknowledge and thank the caring staff at Riverview Manor and a special thanks to Dorothy’s private nurse Joyce Laba whose devoted care will always be remembered. We are also so grateful for reverend Steve Smith’s ministerial care and reverend Doug Woods for his pastoral care. Also a Thank you to Dorothy’s devoted friends Who Visited Dorothy during her stay at the Manor. A funeral service will be held at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Armour Road, Peterborough, On Saturday January 9th, 2010 at 11;00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow at St. Luke’s and Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Lakefield following the reception.</p><p> If desired, condolences to the family, directions to the service, and donations to St. Luke’s General Fund or The Charity of Your Choice may be made at www.CommunityAlternative.ca or by calling COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL HOME at 742-1875.</p><p><br></p>
