<p>WRIGHT: George Francis </p><p>Peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, after a three year battle with cancer, on Thursday, June 11, 2009. George Wright of Peterborough in his 69th year. Much loved husband of Jackie (Richards). Son of the late George and Winifred Wright. Cousin of Veronica “Ronnie” ( Dan McCarthy ) of Forest Hills New York and Andrew Garavel S.J. of Santa Clara ,California. Dear son-in-law of Sybil Richards of Peterborough and the late Jack Richards. Brother-in- law of John Richards of Bamfield, British Columbia and Jo Anne Richards of Lindsay. George will also be missed by his three nephews and many friends. After a 20 year career with the US Air Force he retired as a Major. In his second career he worked contracts at NASA, US Space Command Consolidated Operations Center, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Internal Revenue Service and the Central Intelligence Agency. At various times in his life he was active in the Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis and as a Scout Master. In retirement he took up genealogy and became an avid reader and gardener. Visitation will be held at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, 859 Barnardo Avenue on Tuesday, June 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Father Andrew Garavel S.J. officiating.
