<p>WILLOUGHBY, Irene Olive (Burnell) – Peacefully, at home, with her husband at her side, on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Irene of Peterborough, in her 89th year. Beloved wife of Michael Willoughby for 68 years. Loving mother of Michael Jr. (Gayle) of Newcastle. Dear grandmother of Nicole (Scott Snowden) and Shari (Jim Piper). Great grandmother of Brycen, Jordan, Alex and Jesse. Sister of George Burnell. Dear friend of Leslie and Rick Rooney. A Medical Secretary, Irene (with Mike) owned and operated the Waubic Inn, on the Severn River for over 20 years before retiring. She has many boating friends and was known for her love of people and cooking. She will be remembered by friends in Toronto, Pickering, Orillia, Coldwater, Florida and Peterborough. Cremation has been arranged with COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL HOME.
