Obituary of Jack George Gardner
GARDNER, Jack George (WWII Veteran); Passed away on Thursday, May 21st, 2020 in his 94th year at Applewood Retirement Residence with his family by his side. Cherished husband of Sylvia Gardner of 64 years. Loving dad to his daughters Christine (Shane Hamilton), Carol (Gary Myers), and Linda (Bruce) Brunsch. Very proud Grandpa and Papa of his grandchildren Mark, Brenna (Mark), Nicole (Charles), Danielle (Alex), Patrick (Amirah), Melanie (Brad), and Robert (Rachel). Great-Grandpapa of Madeya and Lochlan. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Jack was a paratrooper during the Second World War and a retired lineman from Oakville Hydro of 35 years. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, sports, and was an avid golfer and keen competitor. He was very proud of his grandchildren and their accomplishments. Cremation has taken place and interment will take place at a later date at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery in Oakville, Ontario. The family would like to extend many heartfelt thanks to Lori and Debbie for their loving care, the staff at Applewood Retirement Residence, Laura at the LIHN, the Palliative Health Care Team, and Veterans Affairs for their support.
