Kenneth Hugh Snyder Obituary

SNYDER, Kenneth Hugh (Ken) – October 15, 1928 – April 11, 2010 –

Peacefully, in his sleep at 81 years of age. Beloved Husband of the late Mardie Snyder (2007). Cherished father of Stephen, Dianne (David Lewis), Dennis (Jo-anne) and the late Wayne. Grandpa to Benjamin, Kenneth (Elizabeth), William and Daniel. Predeceased by his sister Norma and brother in law Rod. Will be sadly missed by brother in law Reg and his wife Ruth. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by many extended family and friends. Dad’s four legged friends will miss his constant friendship, attention and sneaking of treats.

Dad was a Bell Canada pioneer. After 35 years, he retired, moving to Ennismore in 1985 with his wife Mardie. He was an avid history buff and loved to read. He spent his time traveling, gardening and learning new hobbies. As the years wore on, Dad slowed down considerably and he simply looked forward to spending time with his family and friends. He kept his sense of humour even while enduring many new health problems in the last three years. His gentle nature, sense of humour, incredible historical knowledge and fascinating stories will be deeply missed by all who knew him; especially his best buddy and daughter-in-law Jo-anne.

We would like to thank our extended family, friends and caregivers who were there for Dad when he needed you most. We are eternally grateful for the kindness, care and dignity that you showed him. In keeping with Dad’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Instead, he wanted you to take the time to enjoy the sunset and raise a glass in his memory.
