WEBSTER, Kenneth Frederick With love and fond memories, we announce the passing of a dear husband, father and grandfather at Extendicare Peterborough on Monday, February 7, 2011, in his 86th year. Survived by his loving, devoted wife Marlyn (nee Ojala). Beloved son of Ernest Edward Webster and Kathleen (nee Gross) (predeceased). Survived by three loving children Ken, Penny and Nancy. Daughter Lynn lost her battle to cancer in June 2009. Proud grandfather of Ken and wife Laura’s (nee Durepeau) son Derrick and Penny’s sons Trevor and Tyler Brown. Older brother to sisters Dolly Huyer who passed in 2003, and Connie Sullivan (Bob). Also survived by brother in-law Melvin Ojala and three nephews Alan(Heather), Paul(Judy), and Dirk(Anna). A WW11 vet (RCAF) who served overseas at age 18. Post WW11 he met and married Marlyn in 1951, and he also became an elementary school teacher at the following locations: Fort William (1951-1956): Educational Director - Muskoka Hospital (1956-1958): Vice Principal/Principal Elementary Schools in Elliot Lake (1958-1966) and Sudbury (1966-1982). Throughout his teaching career, he enthusiastically coached hockey and skiing to children and teenagers. His skiing ability was demonstrated when he won an all Ontario open cross-country ski competition in 1942. He was also very keen to improve his teaching abilities, and he did so by achieving the following by night school, weekends, and summer courses: B.A. - Laurentian University – 1970 ( major- geography; minor- history); B.Ed- University of Toronto – 1974; MSc.Ed – Niagara University, N.Y. – 1977. Spiritually strong with a contagious sense of humor, Ken will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
