Neil Jonathan Clark Obituary

CLARK, Neil Jonathan –Peacefully at P.R.H.C. Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Nancy Mae. Survived by daughter Lianne (Kyle) of Kelowna BC and son Chris (Leone) of Peterborough, ON, nephews Darrell and Dennis and niece Catherine. Predeceased by infant twins Victoria and Michael, parents Douglas Clark of Chatham and Mary Clark of Peterborough, brothers Douglas and Dennis Clark of Peterborough . During an extended period of illness Neil enjoyed the comfort of his home supported by his son Chris and daughter in law Leone, nurse Sharon and personal support workers Melissa, Lisa and James from Nightingale, JD from Hospice Peterborough, neighbours Gary and Derek and friend Stan. Neil spent his days at home entertaining visitors and regaling them with stories from his youth up to most recent times. He reminisced daily about his 46 year marriage with his wife Nancy and the life they shared. He spent his days at home gardening and imparting his wisdom gathered over a full and exciting life. In his final week Neil chose to seek the assistance of the Palliative Care Unit of P.R.H.C. He was cared for by dedicated nurses and visited daily by Chris and Leone and regularly by friends. Neil often talked about how he and Nancy would be together forever and they are now both at peace and united for all eternity. Neil will be remembered for the strength he showed during Nancy’s illness and the courage he mustered in the face of his own illness in the 6 months after Nancy passed. Cremation has taken place and a ceremony of life for both Nancy and Neil will take place at a later date. Interment for both Nancy and Neil will take place at the family plot in London in the New Year.
