Obituary for Shawn Ernest Emile Wasson

WASSON, Shawn Ernest Emile – Retired custodian, OPP. Peacefully, with his family at his side, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Friday, February 28, 2014, in his 67th year. Shawn was the beloved ‘High School Sweetheart’ and husband of Janene (nee Sanderson) for 45 years. Loving father of Ian, Bill (Gail), Melanie Crough (Mark), and Jim (Kalsang Sundup). Dear “Poppy” of Kori, Brady, Lexie, Myah, Ryan, Sawyer and Dawa. Son of the late Norma and J. Arthur Wasson. Son-in-law of Doreen and Sandy Sanderson. Brother-in-law of Tom Sanderson (Nancy), Lu-Ann Lukes (Frank) and Mary Vanleeuwen (Tom). Shawn will be remembered by many other great friends, relatives, and co-workers, including his best friend, Wally Davidson (Marion), “Chach” and all the guys from Fitzsimmons Garage. Always the life of the party, Shawn will be remembered for his quick one liners and his effortless sense of humour. A sporting man, he was well known for his skill in Fast Pitch and Slow Pitch softball, coaching hockey or lacrosse and enjoying watching his grandchildren in all their sports. Visiting will be held at ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME & VISITATION CENTRE, 840 Armour Road (just north of Parkhill) on Wednesday, March 5, from 6-9 pm and Thursday, March 6, from 11 am to 1 pm. A memorial service to celebrate Shawn’s life will follow at 1 pm.
