PERELANDRA “PERRY” BLACK-CLEARY
Has passed from life to life after a long and very courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, October 22, 2006, at her home in Burketon, at age 49. Perry Black-Cleary, a “Traf” grad (Montreal) who attended Bishop’s University, had many career choices/opportunities before her, thanks to her talents, abilities and family connections. A gifted chef, she owned and operated Café Perrier in Montreal, but left to follow her childhood dream of being a stay at home mom, who had at least 7 children. Perry gently but actively lived her faith in Jesus Christ championed family values and home schooled the 7 children she was blessed with. She overcame the material deprivation and hardship that can come with raising a large family on a limited income, but by God’s grace, there was always enough to make ends meet. Perry created a home filled with faith, love and wonderful cooking that made a little seem like lots. Her generous and gentle spirit has returned to the One who blessed us with her. While we will sorely miss her, we carry her love always in our hearts. Beloved wife of Joe Cleary. Loving mother of Kathleen, James, Erin, Gavin, Hannah, Ben and Karalyn. Predeceased by her father Gordon Black, long-time C.S.L. executive, and her sister Andra Lee Hanscom. Loved and missed by her mother Janie Black, her brother W.A. Gordon Black and her sister Sandra Thorndycraft, her spiritual family and her many friends and acquaintances. The Family of Perry Black-Cleary will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Tuesday, October 24th from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. followed by interment at Thornton Cemetery in Oshawa at 3 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held next spring/summer.
