DEL BEL, Velma (nee Barsanti)

Peacefully at the Ontario Finnish Resthome with her family by her side on Friday June 19, 2020 at the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband Lorrie. Mother of Lorraine (Gino) Castagna and the late Emilio “Mel” (Mena) Del Bel. Nonna of Clorinda (Brent) Rancourt, Michael Del Bel (Liang) and Ryan Del Bel. Great Nonna of Max and Mia Del Bel. Predeceased by her parents Enrico and Argentina (nee Particelli) Barsanti. Sister of Sylvia (late Maurice) Pelletier. Daughter-in-law of the late Emilio and Emilia Del Bel and sister-in-law of the late Leo Del Bel (Carmel). Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Velma was a woman who will be remembered by those closest to her for her strength, perseverance, and good-hearted nature. She was always known to have a positive outlook on life despite facing many hardships. She found great joy in the search for a good deal at the grocery store and loved her trips to the casino. She will be greatly missed, especially for her home cooked meals, that brought the family together. To the world she was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, nonna, aunt and friend, but to our family she was our world and will be forever loved and missed. A private family service was held. The family would like to thank the Ontario Finish Resthome for their care given to Velma. Memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Finnish Resthome Foundation.
