John passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 21, 2017. Born in Neuss, Germany, on July 13, 1928, Hans Werner Michels of Kitchener, was in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Ellen Michels (née Wipperfurt). Survived by his sisters-in-law Agnes Wipperfurt and Inge Krafhorst, both of Germany. John will also be missed by his cousin Albert Von Der Muehll of East Garafraxa, as well as his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents William and Theresa (née Duetz), his sister Marlis Liebertz (Peter), and brothers-in-law Gunter Wipperfurt and Josef Krafhorst. A graveside funeral service will be held at Maitland Bank Cemetery, 42636 Hydro Line Road, Seaforth, Ontario, on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association are appreciated and can be made through McGlynn Family Funeral Home, Seaforth, 519-527-1390.
