Maria (Mary) Van Valkengoed

Maria Cornelia (Mary) Van Valkengoed passed away peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital on Saturday, September 16, 2017. In her 78 years among us, Mary blessed the lives of her family and friends with ways of love, kindness and caring. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her sons Rick (Carrie) of Vernon B.C. and Bob (Lorie) of Crediton. Treasuring memories of a special Oma are Jacob and Jared. Mary will be fondly remembered by her sister Corrie Klaver of Clinton, her brothers and sisters- in- law in Holland, and many nieces and nephews. Mary is predeceased by her husband Joe (1988), cherished grandson Ryan (2008), brother-in- law Henry Klaver and seven siblings in Holland. Family and friends will be received at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth (519-527-1390) on Wednesday, September 20, from 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. A funeral service to celebrate Mary’s life will commence at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at St. James Roman Catholic Cemetery followed by a reception at Seaforth Legion, Branch 156, 123 Main Street South, Seaforth. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation or the charity of one’s choice, would be appreciated by the family.
