Marjorie passed away peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Born in Seaforth on January 17, 1941, Marjorie Elaine Papple of Seaforth was in her 77th year.
Beloved long time best friend of Brian “Barney” Cucksey, and his children, Ryan (Angela), Shawn (Alli), Becky (Kevin), and grandchildren Tucker, Jace and Cheyenne. Dear sister of Bruce (Gwen) of Blyth, Jim (Janet) of Seaforth, Tom (Dawn) of Sarnia and Don (Jeannie) of Exeter. Cherished aunt and great-aunt of 12 nieces and nephews, 29 great-nieces and great-nephews and one great-great-niece. Also lovingly remembered by her aunts, Olave Little, Dorothy Papple, Edna Stinson and Naomi Pryce.
Predeceased by her parents Earl and Olive (née Pryce) Papple, as well as her many aunts and uncles.
Marjorie enjoyed a long career as a school teacher, starting in a one room school house until a happy retirement. She was a church organist for many years and she also enjoyed many creative endeavours such as farming, gardening, genealogy, photography, curling, lawn bowling, as well as caring for many, many pets.
Visitation will be held at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Tuesday, August 8th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Marjorie’s life will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, August 9th at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in Maitland Bank Cemetery followed by a reception in the Northside United Church Hall.
