Effie Skipper, faithful soldier of The Salvation Army in St. Marys, member of the McConnell Club of St. Marys and retired employee of the local Canada Post office, was promoted to glory from Free Port Hospital, Kitchener on April 13, 2007 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Leslie Skipper (1986). Loving mother of Major Denis Skipper and his wife Faye of Kitchener, Robert Skipper of Stratford and Brian Skipper and his wife Wilma of Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Martin Skipper and his wife Lynn, Jeff Skipper and his wife Kathy, Deliah Williams and her husband Brian, Julie Johnston and her husband Reid, Jennifer Reinhart and her husband Vince and Luke Skipper. Proud great-grandmother of six. Dear sister of Elva Alderson. Aside from her husband, Effie was predeceased by sisters Jacqueline Allan, Cora Stewart, Dorothy Kittmer and brother Leroy Kittmer. Family and friends will be received at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. South, St. Marys, on Monday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at The Salvation Army Community Church, at the southeast corner of Queen St. E. and Peel St. S., on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 11 a.m. with visiting one hour prior. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery. Donations may be made to The Salvation Army.
