Harold Walter Henry died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Victoria Hospital in London at the age of 84.
His life was his work. He was a lineman at London Hydro and after retirement he co-founded J-Mar Line Maintenance Inc.
He joins his beloved wife Alice (Blackler) who predeceased him on January 25, 2014. Harold is survived by his three children; Ruth Ann (Grant) Woolford of London, Mark (Kate) Henry of Thorndale and Jeff (Trudy) Henry of Gananoque. His grandchildren are Lee Ann (Graeme) Woolford Stirling, Douglas (Amanda) Woolford, Elizabeth Woolford (Simon Briggs), Jared Henry (Amy Harrison), Justin Henry (Steven Quast), Alex and Scott Henry. Harold is also survived by his six great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his three siblings: Joyce Yost, Shirley (Allan) Jackson, Keith (Joyce) Henry and sisters-in law Edith Henry, Doris Fairbairn and Verna Blackler. He was predeceased by his parents Hilliard and Viola Henry and brother Gerald Henry of Clifford.
The family wishes to extend a thank-you to the staff and residents at Longworth Retirement Residence in London for their care and friendship during his short stay there.
Family and friends are invited to the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. South, St. Marys (519-284-2820) on Tuesday May 13, 2014 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Rishi Sativihari officiating. Spring interment of Alice and the burial of Harold’s cremated remains will take place at St. Pauls Anglican Cemetery in Kirkton. In life and death they will be together again.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or St. James’ Anglican Church.
