Antonio Sacco

Antonio (Tony) Sacco, in his 83rd year, passed away peacefully, on August 17, 2016 with his family by his side, at Victoria Hospital, London. Born in Scigliano Lupia Provincia Cosenza, Italy, he was the son of Domenico Sacco and the former Maria Rosa Astorino. Beloved husband of Maria Sacco (nee Rizzo) whom he married on January 30, 1957 in Italy. His memory will be cherished by his loving children; Teresa Sargent, Gisella Bennett and her husband Jason and Antonio Sacco Junior, and his wife Heather. Tony was the nurturing Nannu of Cassandra Sargent and fiancé Stephen Hyde, Daniel Sargent, Connor, Ashlee and Allison Bennett and Natalie and Julia Sacco. Tony is also survived by his sister-in-law Adriana Bannon and her husband Pat and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Tony was also predeceased by his brother Saverio Sacco and his wife Rosetta, his sister Palma Bellia and her husband Emanuele and a nephew Denny Morris. Tony worked at the Stratford Ice Plant for seven years and then at F.A.G. for thirty years following. Friends and relatives may call at the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home, 156 Albert Street, Stratford, on Sunday August 21, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. prior to the evening visitation. The Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford. Entombment will take place in the Garden Mausoleum, Avondale Cemetery, Stratford.
