Edmund John Jacob Schmidt, of Greenwood Court, Stratford, peacefully passed away on Wednesday July 3, 2013. Edmund was the son of the late Jacob and Kardinga (Diehl) Schmidt. He was born on December 19, 1920 in North Easthope Township. He farmed there at Lot 29 and 30 concession 4, line 40 for 70 years before retiring to Stratford. Survived by his wife Beatrice (Wilker) whom he married in September 1943. Loved and sadly missed by his children Terry (Ursula), Jean (Dave) Koch, Wayne (Marina) and Roger (Chris). Greatly missed by his 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Edith Wilker of Greenwood Court. Predeceased by his brothers Allan (Margaret) and Nelson (Mabel) and brothers in law Carl and Elmer Wilker and Sister in law Catherine (Carl) Hohner. .Survived by brother in law Ken (Eleanor) Wilker. .Pleasurable pastimes included horse shoes , golf, cards and fishing with friends and family and while in Greenwood he greatly enjoyed Crokinole. He was a lifelong member of St. Peters Lutheran Church. Special thanks to the nursing staff and volunteers at Greenwood Court. Friends and relatives will be received at The James A.
