Ernest W. J. Croft, of Stratford, a long- time resident of Tavistock, passed away peacefully, on January 15, 2014, at Stratford General Hospital. He was just short of his 91st birthday. He was born on February 4, 1923 in Stoney Point, ON. He is predeceased by many siblings, as well as his son, Gordon J. Croft, and son-in-law, Andrew M. Colclough. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Croft, of Stratford, his daughter M.J. (Joy) Colclough and grandson, Todd M. Colclough, of Elmira, his daughter-in-law Nancy (Rose)Croft, grandson, Jeffrey G. Croft, and his wife Anna of Tavistock, and granddaughter Ashley R. Croft, and her partner, John Morgado, of Kitchener. Also surviving, is his step-son, Leonard R. Croft, of Barrie. Friends and relatives may call at the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home 156 Albert St., Stratford on January 27, 2014 at 1pm until the time of the service at 2 pm. A luncheon will follow, with further opportunity for visitation. Interment is to take place in the spring at St. Mary’s cemetery, in Woodstock.
