Gordon Charles Ruller of Stratford passed away at Stratford General Hospital on Saturday October 20, 2012 in his 86th year. Born in Palmerston, he was the son of Wes and Pearl Ruller. Gordon worked at the C.N.R. all his life and was a devoted family man. He enjoyed his time outdoors gardening, fishing, hunting or walking in the woods. Beloved husband of the late Elaine (Hahn) Ruller, whom he married at St. Mathews Lutheran Church, Kitchener on February 17, 1951. Dear father of Valerie Black and her husband Ray of Stratford, Shirley Ruller and her husband O.J. Wilura of Kitchener, Paul Ruller of Stratford, Joan Bain and her husband Richard of London and Michael Ruller and his friend Jennifer Barwell of Mississauga. Dear grandfather of Melissa and James Black, Peter and Elizabeth Wilura, Justin, Shalyn and Janessa Ruller, Brett and Jordan Healey, Caroline and Daniel Bain and Sydney and Gabriella Ruller. Also survived by his sisters Helen Dunn of Belleville and Marion Gardiner of Texas, and brother Lorne Ruller and his wife Lois of Stratford. Brothers-in-law Wilford Hahn (Evelyn) of Kitchener, Claude Hahn (Rita) of Cambridge, and sisters-in-law Rose Hahn of Toronto, Marethia Boves (Tino), Eleanor Loree and Ann Kipp of Kitchener. Predeceased by his brother Roy and brother-in laws and sister-in-laws Ross Hahn (Helen), Doug Hahn (Naomi) and Jim Loree. Relatives and friends will be received at the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home, 156 Albert Street, Stratford (519-271-5062) on Tuesday October 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at on Wednesday October 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Doug Reble, officiating. Cremation will follow with interment at Avondale Cemetery, Stratford.
