Obituary
Jean Anne (Ross) Murray passed away peacefully at St. Andrew’s Terrace on November 18th in her 94th year. She was the beloved wife of Howard Gordon Murray. Jean, predeceased by her son James, will be greatly missed by daughters Patricia (Bill) Cook, Cher (Craig) Harvey, and Debra (Lawrence) Masters; grandchildren David (Kim) Cook, Andrew (Rachelle) Cook, Tracy (Tim) Hatheway, Danielle (Cam) Moffat, Scott Harvey, Lauren (Kieran) Bliss, Vanessa and Chad Masters; and many great grandchildren. Jean was born in 1922 on the 13th line of East Zorra near Hickson, Ontario and was very proud of her Scottish heritage. She was a loving Mother, and an excellent homemaker, cook, seamstress and gardener. In Woodstock, Jean was an active member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of Dundas St. United Church. When she moved to Stratford in 1965, she joined St. John’s United Church and proved to be an exceptional volunteer who visited and comforted church members at the Stratford General Hospital for 17 years. As well, she was a member of the Inner Wheel of Rotary, and was a proud recipient of the Paul Harris Award given to her for her exceptional service to the community. Jean’s passions included travelling around the world with Howard, golfing, walking and quilting. Her family thanks her for the legacy of love passed on to them. She was a loving, kind and caring person and a loyal friend who will always be remembered by everyone for her energy, positive attitude and beautiful smile. The family invites guests to join them on November 21, in the chapel at Greenwood Court, 90 Greenwood Drive, Stratford. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. and a reception at 3:00.In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice will be appreciated and can be made through the James A.
