John Korver It is with great sadness that the family of John Korver announces the passing of their father and grandfather on Tuesday, June 18 at the Stratford General Hospital in his 96th year. He was born in Alkmaar, Nederland, the son of the Johannes Korver (1884-1942) and Betje van Leeren (1888-1973). He immigrated to Canada in 1954, settling in Stratford. He worked as a mechanic and service manager at Wurster Motors and Stratford Motor Products. He is predeceased by his wife Martha. He will be fondly remembered by his sons John and wife Joyce (McMaster) of Hamilton, Rudy and wife Elizabeth (Golz) of Stratford and Bob and wife Diane (Aldis) of St. Marys. Beloved grandfather to Juliet Korver, Robert Korver and wife Victoria, Daniel Korver, Mary Ellen and husband Ryan Babcock , Jannet Korver, Andrew Korver, Jason Korver and wife Alysson, Joshua Korver and wife Tanya and Joshua Reardon. Dear great-grandfather to Owen, Jonas, Kayla, Will and Erin Korver and Ryker and Baelyn Babcock. Our father had a great zest for life and hard work. He taught us to love the outdoors and we spent many memorable hours fishing together. We will miss him. However, death is not a period, but a comma. We’ll meet again. Respecting his wishes, cremation has already occurred and his life will be remembered in a private family service.
