Judith Bauer February 8, 1926 – July 29, 2013 At age 87, after several years of declining health passed away at Humber Valley Terrace in Toronto, ON with long-time companion, Klaus Handel, at her side. Judith was pre-deceased by her husband, Ernst Karl Bauer (1971) and was the loving mother of her son Harald of Montreal, QC. She was born and grew up in Lodz, Poland. In 1945 she and her mother left Poland to find refuge in Germany where she married Ernst. In 1952 she, her husband and infant son immigrated to Canada and made their home in Stratford ON where Judith lived for more than 50 years. She worked at Stratford’s General Hospital from the mid-1960’s until her retirement in 1991. Friends and relatives will be received by the family at the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home, 156 Albert Street, Stratford, ON (519-271-5062) on Wednesday August 7, 2013 from 1-2 p.m. where a memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Interment in Avondale Cemetery.
