Mary Horne

Mary Elizabeth Horne (nee Aitcheson) of Shakespeare passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital on May 12, 2015 in her 76th year. Born in Downie Township, she was the daughter of the late Stacey Aitcheson and the former Bertha Cardwell. She will be fondly remembered by her beloved husband Jim Horne, who she married at Avonton Presbyterian Church on June 10, 1961. That same year she became a member of Shakespeare Presbyterian Church. Mary had a passion for gardening and tending to her flowerbeds at home. Mary is survived by her sons Jamie and wife Heather Horne and Murray and wife Jody Horne. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Jenna, Emma, Cameron, Alexa and Ellie Horne. Also, Mary is survived by her special first cousin Ruby McMillan and husband Alex, sister-in-law Margaret McGonigle and husband Murray and brother-in-law Alex Horne and wife Jean as well as several first cousins in Alberta. Besides her parents, Mary was also predeceased by her Aunt and Uncle Annabell and Albert Baumbach. Relatives and friends may call at the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home, 156 Albert St., Stratford, on Friday May 15, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will take place at 11am on Saturday, May 16, at the funeral home. Burial in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, North Easthope to follow. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Shakespeare Presbyterian Church, through the funeral home at 519-271-5062. www.jarfh.com
