Ruth Jones

As a result of complications of dementia, Ruth Jones died on Sunday, September 18, 2016 and passed gently into the Presence of her LORD and Saviour at the age of 75. Ruth was the daughter of Louis and Beatrice Emke (nee Klein), who both predeceased her. She married James Kenneth Jones on February 8, 1964 and celebrated 32 years of marriage with him until his death in 1996. Besides her parents, parents-in-law, and her husband, Ruth was predeceased by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Gene Fraser, Roy Fraser, and Shirley and Keith Walker, as well as a brother, Douglas, in infancy. She is survived by her children, Bruce and Ruth, Joy, and Mark and Elaine, and her grandchildren, Bethany, Caleb, Corey, Aaron, and Nadia, as well as by her siblings and their spouses, Elsie and John Shatto, Joyce and Brian Mizen, David and Sarah Emke, Carl and Marsha Emke, Ivan and Joyce Emke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and friends. Friends and family can pay their respects at the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home, 156 Albert St. Stratford (519-271-5062) on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. A service celebrating Ruth’s life will take place at MEMORIAL BAPTIST CHURCH, 113 Bruce St., Stratford, on Friday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m. Interment in Avondale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Perth-Huron, Memorial Baptist Church, or a charity of one’s choice through the funeral home. Ruth Jones was a blessing to all who knew her. Ruth’s family want to thank all who had a part in her care.
