Walter Duchesnay

Walter Duchesnay, of Stratford passed away peacefully on July 23, 2015, in his 87th year. He was the son of the late Walter Duchesnay and the former Sarah Squires. Beloved husband of Irene Duchesnay (nee Halama). Walter was the dear father of Sonya Lichti and her husband Mark of Stratford, Susanna Newbold of Oshawa, Scot Duchesnay and wife Martha of Aurora and Charles Duchesnay and wife Kim of Ancaster. Nurturing grandfather of Johnathan Lichti and wife Katie, Sean Lichti, Corey Jones, Christie Johnson and fiancé Dave Wityszyn, Niki Duchesnay and Kara Duchesnay. He is also survived by his great-granddaughter Jenelle Jones. Walter is survived by his sister Irene Cosgrove of Orange, Connecticut, and several nieces and nephews. A sincere and heartfelt thank you goes to the staff of Spruce Lodge Residence. The care and time spent with Walter and the rest of the Duchesnay family is greatly appreciated. The personal support workers and nurses of Spruce Lodge Residence made this long journey so much easier for all of the family, and were “Angels” to Walter and his family. A gathering will take place at the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home, 156 Albert St., Stratford on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00p.m. As expressions of sympathy, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association of Perth County, through the funeral home at 519-271-5062. www.jarfh.com
