Hector Lachapelle

The family announces the passing of Hector J. Lachapelle on December 12th, 2019 in Sudbury. Born October 29, 1931, as the 14th child of Louis-Zéphyrin and Christine Pitre both predeceased, was raised in Noëlville, Ontario. Husband of predeceased Pauline (née Charette) ✝️ August 29, 1958 and Hélène (née Bertrand); seven children, Joanne of Ottawa, Marc (Line Auger) of Québec City, André (Randi Innbjor) of Sudbury, René (Sylvie Bondoux) of Pembroke, Christine (Michel Jutras) of Sudbury, Paul (Sharon Hearn) of Oakville, Pierre (Mona Lise Dubé) of Trenton; and grand-papa to Éric (Anne-Marie Habr), Chantal (Matthieu Cirella), Caroline, Mireille, Zacharie, Myleina and great grandfather to be. Survived by one brother, Gérard. Will be sadly missed by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews from the Lachapelle, Charette and Bertrand families. Hector worked for Canada Post for 34 years. He was devoted to his family and had a deep interest in French Canadian genealogy and Franco-Ontarien heritage. The family expresses it’s appreciation to the medical team and staff on the 6th floor South Tower at Health Sciences North for the support, care and compassion towards Hector and family. The family will receive relatives and friends at COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, on Sunday, December 22nd from 2-4 pm and from 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 22, 2019 in église St-Dominique in Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations to Blue Door Soup Kitchen or McCulloch Hospice would be much appreciated. The two local charities are very dear to Papa.
