Gilles Grandmaison

GRANDMAISON, GILLES It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gilles Grandmaison, at the age of 74, who died peacefully at home on Monday, June 22, 2020. He will be forever missed by his wonderful wife of 48 years, Giselle (Tessier) Grandmaison, his four beloved children Ginette, Anne (Romeo), Lucie (Tony) and Daniel. Dearly cherished and missed by his grandchildren, Ricky, Kevin, Maxime, Matthew, Dyneisha, Christyanne, Samantha, Cynthia, Hailey, Zachary, Sebastien and Athena and his two great-grandchildren, Landon and Mia. He was a dear beloved son of Alyre Grandmaison (predeceased) and Lina (Tessier) Grandmaison (predeceased). Predeceased by his sister Lucille (Grandmaison) Lefebvre and brother Claude Grandmaison. Survived by his brother, Gaetan (Rita), brother-in-law, Victor, and sister-in-law Yvette (Curtis). He will be great missed by several special nieces and nephews, cousins and cherished friends. Those who knew Gilles would agree that he lived a full life. A life filled with much dignity, integrity, generosity and love. With a heart so large, caring for his family, friends, the parish community and general public was his way of life. A way of life chosen with great humility. All who knew Gilles will remember him for his vitality, his wonderful stories, his laughter, his jokes and pranks, his voice that attracted much attention and a whistle that brought much joy and calmness when times were tough. Most importantly, Gilles will be remembered for his endless generous spirit and compassion. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, funeral attendance at Paroisse Ste-Anne des Pins will be limited and by invitation only. Additional details will be shared by family members. In lieu of flowers and in honor of his generous spirit, donations by cheque can be made to the Paroisse Ste-Anne des Pins, Sudbury, ON, to support the less fortunate. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
