Noreen Marie Brownridge (nee Sholea) The family of Noreen Brownridge sorrowfully announces the death of the oldest child of the late Thomas and Helena Sholea (nee Prete) at Health Sciences North, Sudbury on her 84th birthday, Thursday, October 4, 2012. Beloved mother of Gary and Glenn both of Calgary and step-children Yvonne and Dennis. Cherished grandmother of Nathan, Melanie and Melissa, all of Western Canada, step-grandchildren Rebecca, Nic and Crystle and great grandchildren Emalee and Owen as well as step-great grandchildren Zachary, Noah and Gabrielle will all remember Noreen with love. Dear sister of Pam Milliken/Marion (Joe) and Janet Hopkins (Donald predeceased). She will also be missed by five nephews and nieces, a multitude of Prete cousins in Sudbury and Sholea cousins in Renfrew, and the last surviving Prete aunt, Irene Ovis join the bereaved. During her working years, which lasted until she was well into her 70’s, Noreen worked diligently for the Provincial Liberal Party. She was the Membership Secretary and CFO for Simcoe West, the Toronto Membership Coordinator and the Membership Secretary for 5 years for the Sudbury District Liberal Party. A heartfelt word of gratitude to cousins Cecil-Lee and Diane for their loving care of Noreen during her final years, and to George Smitherman and Chris Peloso. Funeral Service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 2 p.m. (Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday) Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
