Warna Timlock Obituary

Warna Timlock (June 14th 1923 – July 14th 2011.) Warna Timlock (Fisher) was born and raised in Sydney, Nova Scotia. She was a graduate of the Sydney Acadamy. Warna became an accomplished step dancer and entertained for the troops throughout the province and Island during the war. Moving to St. Catherines, Warna had two children, Jack and Kimberley and she spent some of her happiest years with them at the Garden City Theatre. She was extremely proud of her amazingly artistic children; Jack became a talented theatre set designer and producer, and Kimberley became an accomplished performer and teacher in theatre and dance. Warna moved to Sudbury in 1980 for the opening session of the Sudbury Theatre Centre as the Costume designer. Her magical costumes appeared in all of the mainstage shows. She especially loved working with the children who came through STC and became a surrogate grandmother to many both watching out for them and making sure they learned how to toe the mark in the highly disciplined world of theatre. Warna was also a dedicated life-long philanthropist. She started her generous life time of volunteering during the war in the canteen then continued with organizations such as the Girl Guides of Canada, Mental Health, the Gerontology program at Huntington University, Kiwanis Club of Sudbury, 111 Club at St. Andrews Place and was a proud founder of Interlink .This was recognized with awards for her volunteer work from the Professional Business Women of Sudbury and by the Province of Ontario with a Senior Achievement Award. Loving mother of Jack (partner Rick) and Kimberley (both predeceased). She will be sadly missed by the Giusti Family. Warna became the “adopted “ grandmother of Marissa and Meaghan Giusti who always included her in their lives. Special friend to Bea Tobin and family, Judi Straughan and Family and Louise Peach and Family. She will be remembered in a memorial service at the Sudbury Theatre Centre on September 1st at 7pm. All who know this outstanding community member are encouraged to attend. Donations to the Kiwanis Club of Sudbury and Mental Health.
