KNOX, Donald James - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Donald James Knox of Thamesford, in his 68th year on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Loving husband of Linda (Hebblethwaite) Knox for 42 years. Proud dad of Michael and Becky Knox of Thamesford, and Sarah Knox (Billy Joe Bye) of Sault Ste Marie. Loving Papa Don to Liam, Arden, and Ryan; special friend of Livia. Also survived by siblings Ruth (Jim) Stephenson, John (Judy) Knox, Kae (Brad) Ackland; mother-in-law Betty Hebblethwaite; brother-in-law Tom (Susan) Hebblethwaite, Deb (Dale) Labute, and Susan Hebblethwaite. Predeceased by his son Greg (1992), his parents Elmer and Jean Knox and his father-in-law Garnet Hebblethwaite. Don was a retired dairy/beef farmer; he loved his Banner farming community. He was a member of the Thamesford Lions Club, Banner United Church and past director in the Oxford Cattlemen’s Association. Don was an enthusiastic fan of his kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events. Friends may join the family on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home Thamesford Chapel, 177 Dundas St., Thamesford. The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Banner United Church with Pastor Mary Dillon officiating. Interment in the Banner Cemetery with reception to follow at the Thamesford Community Centre. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Don are asked to consider the Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs. Personal condolences may be sent at www.brockandvisser.com
