VANDAELE, Jean Elizabeth (nee McKellar)- It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Vandaele announce her passing on Friday April 6, 2018 at St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, St. Mary’s with her husband by her side. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her husband of almost 60 years, Walter and her children, Wayne (Kerry), Ronald, and Brian (Jackie). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Sara (Stephen), Shauna, Erin, Andrew, Quinton, Hailey, and Zachary, by her sisters Francis (Jack) Prouse, Anna (George) Litchfield, Donna (Richard) Douglas, and brother Donald (Margaret) McKellar and sisters-in-law Jeanette (Roger) Verbeke, Lizette (Jules) Vanhaelemeesch, and Rosette (Floyd) Steven. Born in Sarnia on May 20th, 1939 to Donald and Beatrice (nee MacKinnon) McKellar, Jean grew up just outside of Brigden. She married Walter in 1958 and in 1964 he built their house on the farm on Cobble Hills Road, Thamesford where they lived until last fall. She lived to take care of her boys and loved to have her family around. Because of her passion for quilting, her memory will live on in the homes of the ones she loved. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 177 Dundas St., Thamesford (519-285-2427), on Tuesday April 10th, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Gerard Hamoen officiating.
