WAUD, Margaret Elizabeth (nee Wheeler)- Passed away peacefully at Woodingford Lodge, Ingersoll surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 5th, 2017, in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Harvey Waud (2006). Loving mother of David (Jacalyn), Ruth Anne (John) McKay, Lorne (Debbie), Louise (Dan) McLennan and predeceased by her son Kenneth (1974). Dear grandmother of Andrew (Nadide), Michael, Katherine (friend Jeremy), Karen (Adam) McKay-Funnell, Josh (Jamie) McKay, Chris McKay, Meaghan (Fiancé Taylor) McKay, Teri (Scott Grimbleby) Waud, Aaron, Hilary (Tony) Waud-Narine, Matt (Kelly) McLennan, Joan (Drew) Kemp, and MariJane McLennan. Great grandma to Kerim, Amelia, Juliet, Olivia, Aubree, Madelyn, Elena, Claire, Blake, and Layla. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Ruby (Bowman) Wheeler, her three brothers, Cecil, Charles, and Leslie as well as her sisters-in-law Marguerite, Dorothy, and Marjorie, also predeceased by her infant great granddaughter Isabella Grace Waud-Grimbleby (2008). Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Born January 24th, 1918 and grew up in the former Dereham Township and Verschoyle, Salford, and Ingersoll Area. Married Harvey Waud in 1949. Lived and farmed in the Kintore area and took an active part in the Chalmers United Church and the Kintore area community. Retired to Embro in 1986, taking an active part in that community and Knox United Church. Retirement suited them well. Mom was known for her generous and selfless hospitality to one and all. No one left without a visit, a cold drink or a cup of tea and a homemade cookie. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Thamesford Chapel, 177 Dundas St., Thamesford (519-285-2427) on Friday, December 8th, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm and again from 6 to 8 pm. The service will be held at the Knox United Church Embro, 116 Kincardine St., Embro, on Saturday at 11:00 am. Cremation and interment at Townline Cemetery to follow at a later date. Memorial contributions to the Woodingford Lodge - Ingersoll, Knox United Church - Embro or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. Online condolences at www.brockandvisser.com
