Shirley Green

Green, Shirley Marie (Nee Hitchon)- Passed away on October 18, 2018 at St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, in St. Mary’s Ontario. Much loved mother to Cheryl (David), Larry, Jayne (Nikos), Kathryn (Grant) and Barbara. Predeceased by her devoted loving husband Ross (December 2016) A Grandmother to nine and a Great Grandmother to six cherished children. The family would like to acknowledge and thank those that truly cared and gave their best to Mother at St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital. All Personal Support Workers are thanked for their home care and in particular Monica and Janice. Shirley garnered much strength and comfort throughout her life from her faith. Her gift of singing and love of music brought her great joy. Shirley was a humble, caring person who contributed to many social justice causes. A memorial donation to Amnesty International, Thorndale-Zion United Church, Indspire, or Canadian Foodgrains Bank would be a fitting and honourable memorial to her. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for visitation on Sunday, October 21st 2018 from 1 to 5 at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home Thamesford Chapel, 177 Dundas Street Thamesford, Ontario (519-285-2427), with the memorial service held at Thorndale United Church, Thorndale, Ontario on Monday October 22nd at 11:00 AM.
