Mrs. Blanche Schutte (Bishop) age 86 years, passed away peacefully on Friday December 13, 2013, with family by her side at the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario.   Blanche was born April 8, 1927 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She worked at Medical Records at the McKellar Hospital in Thunder Bay and in 1950 she married William Schutte.  They worked hard managing their dairy farm as well as Thunder Bay Co-op Farm Supplies. She was a member of the Kakabeka Legion Branch 225 and the Royal Canadian Legion in Ottawa Branch 638.   Blanche was a supportive and loving wife and mother.. enjoyed bowling, baking and taking care of others. Her door was always open to those in need. After retirement she enjoyed travelling to Florida with her husband and discovered her love of painting. She moved to Ottawa in 2008 to be near her only grand-daughter and made friendships which she cherished dearly. Blanche was a devout catholic and honoured the Mass and the solace she received from the Eucharist. She always remembered her family and friends in her prayers.   Blanche is lovingly remembered by her son Chris Schutte (David Brownlee) of Toronto; daughters Michelle (Drago) Perkovic of Ottawa and Andrea (Kim) Villneff of Thunder Bay; grandchildren Ryan and Jason Villneff, Janelle Perkovic and great grandchildren Makayla and Makenzie Villneff. Sister Rosaire Lidkea (Bishop) and brother James Bishop as well as other family members also survive. Blanche was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years William Schutte. A special thank you to the physicians, nurses and staff of the Queensway Carleton Hospital and the Irving Greenberg Cancer Centre in Ottawa Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Blanche Schutte will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 20, 2013 in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James with Msgr. P.M. Stilla VG officiating. An evening gathering for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 in the chapel. If friends so desire, donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
