Mr. Ben Jedyk Obituary

In loving memory of a father, brother, and friend we are saddened to announce that Ben Jedyk, age 73 years, has passed away peacefully, the morning of Monday, January 30, 2017. Ben was born in Germany on August 18, 1943. As a child he immigrated to Canada where he grew up. He lived in various cities, then settled down in Thunder Bay with his wife of 49 years. He was a hard working man, who was very dedicated to his work. Driving a transport truck was a passion of his, often hearing him yelling in the CB radio, “10-4 mother trucker”. Everyone who stumbled across him, loved him, as the hard headed man he was, he always was cracking jokes. He loved his family especially his grandchildren. He was a proud father of 7 children and a grandfather of 10 grandchildren. Ben is survived by his loving wife Barbara Ann Jedyk, his many children Ashley Wakewich (Lance Wakewich), Annemarie Jedyk, Barbie Brown (Louis Brown), Laurie Lambert, Walter Jedyk, Brenda O'Leary, and Lynda Jedyk. His grandchildren Michelle, Avalynn, Christine and many others. Ben will be greatly missed, he will never be forgotten. Ben is predeceased by his mother Adele (Betty) Jedyk and father Walter Jedyk. Our family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at St. Joseph's Hospital for all the love, support and everything they have done for us. Visitation for the late Mr. Ben Jedyk will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Ben to ALS Society of Ontario.
