June Chornobay June 3, 1929 – December 20, 2016 Mrs. June Louise Chornobay (nee Everitt), age 87 years, passed away peacefully in Pinewood Court on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. June was born in Montreal on June 3, 1929 to Albert and Ellen Everitt. She met and married Walter Chornobay and together, they started their life on Home Avenue, where they resided for 67 years. June worked at the Wayland Hotel as a cook and chambermaid for over 25 years. June enjoyed bowling, in her younger years, and taking care of her yard and flowers. Her main focus was her family and she loved spending time with all of them. June will be deeply missed by all who knew her. June is survived by her husband of 67 years, Walter and her son David (Linda) Chornobay as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was the last surviving member of her family and was predeceased by her parents; brothers Dick, Frank, Herb, Bob, Gordon and sister Eva. The family would like to thank special friends Bonnie & Claude and Marg & Willie for all of their support and care over the years. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you as well to the staff of Pinewood Court for their compassion and the care provided to June during her time there. As per June's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date in Mountainview Cemetery. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of June to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
