Mrs. Kaisu "Kay" Rinne Obituary

KAISU “KAY” RINNE January 29, 1931 – November 23, 2017 Mrs. Kaisu “Kay” Marjatta Rinne, age 86 years, passed away peacefully in Bethammi Nursing Home on Thursday, November 23, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Kay was born January 29, 1931 in South Porcupine, Ontario. She met Olavi Rinne and they were married in 1957. Kay worked as a Dental Assistant in her younger years before starting a family. Once her children were born, Kay worked side by side with Olavi in the bush camps they owned and later worked various other jobs to help support her family. Kay enjoyed the outdoors, especially the family camping and fishing trips. She also loved reading a good book, flowers, knitting and other crafts and dancing with Olavi. Kay's faith and church were very important to her and this was evident in how she carried herself. Above all else, Kay was passionate about her family and spending time together. Kay was a strong, determined and loving wife and mother. She supported and encouraged her family constantly, while instilling honesty and the value of hard work in her children. Kay's loving kindness and perseverance will be missed by all of us, but the memories and beautiful gifts that she has left with us will live on each day. Kay is survived by her husband of 60 years, Olavi; daughter Heli (Robert) Doggett and son John; grandchildren Shayleen Doggett (Keven Palmer), Robbie Dogget, Shane Rinne, Brett Rinne and Chase Rinne and her great-granddaughter Madison Doggett-Palmer. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Onni (Seija) Kajorinne, Veijo Kajorinne, Heli Emack and Martti (Carol) Kajorinne as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. She was predeceased by her parents, Viljo and Femmi Kangas as well as her mother-in-law Tyynne and father-in-law Martti Kajorinne and numerous other in-laws. Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Kay Rinne will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 1:30PM in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma, with Rev. Jari Lahtinen officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time. A time of fellowship and reception will take place at Everest Funeral Chapel following the graveside service. For a more lasting legacy, should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Kay to the Alzheimer Society, Bethammi Nursing Home or Adult and Teen Challenge would be greatly appreciated.
