The family announces with sorrow his death on Thursday September 5, 2019 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 51. Dear husband of Brenda McKay. Loving father of Sarah McKay (Deidra), Madison Nicolas (Isaiah), Michael Jr. Nicolas and Mackenzie Young (Robert). Stepgrandfather to Dane Boissoneau, Beesym Couchie. Dear son of Guy Nicolas and Ida Nicolas, and brother of Guy Jr. Nicolas (Tammy), Nicole Nicolas-Bayer (Martin). Also survived by his nephew Nicolas Bayer and his niece Summer Bayer who held a special place in his heart. He will be sadly missed by his four special dogs Toby, Marley, Bella and Bubba. Predeceased by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Michael will be remembered for his boisterous laugh, his kind soul and for his loyalty to friends and family. Michael found happiness spending time with family and friends, fishing and playing bingo with his favourite bingo partner, Brenda. Michael loved deeply, lived large and touched the lives of many people. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to honour Michael will be held on Monday September 9, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Mattagami Community Centre. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Remembrance donations to the Timmins Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
