Sydney Legasy Obituary

April 8, 1999 – September 22, 2020 The family announces with great sorrow her sudden passing in London, ON. at the age of 21 years. Beloved daughter of Joel and Tracy Legasy. Cherished sister of Emily Legasy. Adored grandchild of Edwin and Edith Butterworth and Elmer and late Patricia Legasy. Dear niece of Linda (Don) Labrie, Karen (Pam Laidler), Lawrence Legasy, Jim Butterworth (Vittoria). Sydney will be sadly missed by her boyfriend Alex, her close friend Jonathan, cousins, friends and her beloved pets Piper and Luna. Sydney was a brilliant, beautiful young woman with unlimited potential. She was a consistent honour student throughout her academic career and had intentions of attending Medical School. She diligently studied for the MCAT exam in her spare time this past summer, hoping to move ever closer to her goal. Sydney was a standout at whatever she set her mind to. Very artistic from a young age, she excelled in both dance and voice and had appeared in numerous recitals, festivals and local theatrical productions over the years. She had a natural stage presence and many knowing observers remarked at her uncanny comfort in front of an audience and her natural photogenic aura and ever present smile. Sydney spent the last three summers working as a radio operator with Ontario's Fire Management Branch and enjoyed fire dispatch assignments immensely. She had several opportunities to experience the wonder of Ontario's Far North while on assignment, seeing a part of our Province that few get the opportunity to witness first hand. Sydney was loved dearly and brought much joy to our lives. Her vacant chair will leave a spot in our hearts that will be difficult to heal. Comfort will be found though in our memories of our talented, graceful, humorous girl with the quick wit and beautiful smile. A private family service will be held. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
