SKOURAS, Anastasia Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the age 83. Beloved wife of Dionisios (Dennis) for 54 years. Cherished mother of Helen & Nicholas. Anastasia emigrated to Canada in 1961 and brought her husband to Canada in 1963. Anastasia was extremely devoted to her family and they to her. She studied at Seneca College and worked hard to support her family. She worked various jobs in Bookkeeping and Sales and was a big part of running the family restaurant business in her later years. Education for her children was of utmost importance to her so they could have more opportunities than she had. She was extremely proud of her children and their accomplishments. Her daughter Helen graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in business. Her son Nicholas graduated from the University of Toronto as an Ophthalmologist and eye surgeon. Anastasia had a personality and smile that lit up the room and was the life of the party with her witty sense of humor. She loved cooking and was an amazing cook. She loved to entertain for her family & friends. She had a love of reading, watching classical movies and gardening. She loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit many interesting and exciting destinations. Family & friends will be received at HERITAGE FUNERAL CENTRE 50 Overlea Blvd., 416-423-1000 on Monday, April 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will take place at ST. DEMETRIOS GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH 30 Thorncliffe Park Drive on Tuesday, April 18 at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at York Cemetery.
